Hello Steven.
This is James, one of your youthful clients at the Senior Center in beautiful downtown Cloverdale.
Your work is beyond politics. It is n the realm of meta-politics. I am seeng that the self images of a leader have a great deal to do with the policies, actions and inactions of the prople to whom we have entrusted our lives, our fortunes and our Sacred Honor.
You are engaged in having people notice these self images and concsiously transform them into life-affirming core beliefs.
Let me put in a plug here for what I do. Chess and Mathematics are the vehicles I use to support a person in learning how his mind works at all six levels pointed to by Bloom in the 1960s.
The meta-political view or purpose is to have people -- younger and elder -- learn to use habitually the mental processes involved in finding a strong move in a chess game. The ability to look beyond the immediate thrill of saying Check, for example, is subordinated to the strategic considerations; perhaps when this chess student is face with making a choice in her life, she or he will be able to 'see' the likely consequences of every choice we make in the Game known as 'My Life'.
chessteacher@yahoo.com invites your communication.

Hi James,

Thank you for your very thoughtful comment. I love the idea of chess playing a much larger role in a person's life. It really IS all about the mind, isn't it? Best,
Steve

Steve: I have decided not to use the Community Media Center to make our video. I have adequate equipment to do the job, and just found a new associate at the Kut-Ups show today who would like to work with me. We are leaving for a week tomorrow with 2 grandkids for a week in the Foothills. I will then finish the Kut-Ups show and will be ready to start on your project. I also wrote a review on Amazon today.
